Lagging...

Okay I know I've been bad, okay HORRIBLE about updates, but, well I have no excuse, just lazy, busy, tired, pregnant, sick...all the above. Here's a quick overview of what's been going on with us over the past few months...
Jeff
Working like crazy, which has been a good thing. Nothing is better right now than to continually have work. Helping me with anything and everything (I've been slightly stressed lately and sick with the pregnancy, and as some would say, a little "on-edge") He's been great though, would put me back in my place when I needed to be (although, at the time I NEVER think I need to be), shut his mouth when I needed him to, unloaded the dishwasher when it was done, folded clothes, etc. Been a real lifesaver, I truly am a lucky girl.
Kristi
Well I found out I was highly anemic with this pregnancy, so the Dr put me on a high dosage of iron, which made me sick (shocking). This wasn't anything new for me, as I've been continually sick since the beginning of the pregnancy. The iron has now kicked in and I'm feeling much better, not nearly as tired, just still sick. But hey, at this point it's one or the other, and being able to function throughout the day is so worth it! I still panic at times about having two kids, just how different life will be but I welcome the challenge and can't wait to meet him (yes STILL no name...) We have 7 weeks left and a million things to do!

Aiden
Well he's growing like a weed. Everyone tells you it happens too fast, but literally we have blinked and our baby is now a toddler! He's almost 21 months now and on the GO! Running EVERYWHERE, getting into (I mean exploring) EVERYTHING, and has now created his own ATTITUDE! Yes, ATTITUDE! He makes us laugh everyday with the things he does and comes up with. I'm sure every parent feels the same way, but he is so smart, and we learn something from him everyday. Thank you!

Aquarium of the Pacific

Last weekend we packed up and headed to Ojai for a stay with the Haley's. Weston and Aiden are only 5 months apart and have a great time together. We were going to stay there for the night and then get up and head down to Long Beach to check out the Aquarium of the Pacific. We had talk about Monterey a million times, but decided it was too big for the boys. We made a great choice! It only took about an hour to get there from their house, the boys slept the whole way. Once we were there they were off and running, I mean running! At this point we were not thinking is was such a good choice ;) Once we got them under "control", whatever that means, we were able to actually look at all the animals.

Aiden was overwhelmed, to say the least. He LOVED it. Didn't know where or what to look at first. He wanted to be sure we looked at everything, but only when he told us to, and were done and off to the next, only when he told us to. One of the first things we got to do was "pet" the Bat rays. So cool. I wasn't sure how Aiden would do, but he loved them. Probably wanted to get in the pool with them and go swimming, a boy after my own heart!

The boys lasted about 4 hours and then it was time to go. We packed up the car, the boys passed out, and we were back to Ojai in no time. Jeff and I didn't want to put Aiden back in the car so we hung out, went to Sushi and then headed home. What a weekend, thanks Haley's!

I want YOU, new and improved...

For Christmas Nona and Moepa got Aiden his first Craftsman truck to drive around the house. He's loved it! He thinks it's fantastic that he can chase Duke (the dog), and all the adults around the house. As you can see, he was coming to get ME!

Good Habits Start Young

Ever since Aiden was born we have been "brushing" his gums, teeth, anything. It's really been more of getting him use to the concept. A few weeks ago, he was over us helping and wanted to do it himself! Pushed the stool to the counter, tried to open the drawer (child locks) and grabbed the tooth brush and toothpaste. He copied everything we did down to rinsing his mouth with water at the end and wiping the counter down with a towel.

Zoo Days with the Haleys

We took the boys to the zoo and met the Haley's for a picnic lunch a few weeks ago. It was one of the nice days we've had lately and we were so thankful for that. Aiden and Weston had a great time with the animals and each other. They played tag, fed the "farm" animals, fed the birds their leftover lunch, played on the hill and brought home half of the sandbox with them. They both crashed before we left the parking lot but had a great time.

Rainy days...

With all the rainy days we've been having, Aiden and I have both been going stir crazy. He wakes up, goes straight to the window and just gets cranky if it's raining because he knows we wont be outside that much. I wake up, go straight to the window and get cranky because I know it's going to be a long day! So we decided to make cookies. Aiden was a great helper, stirring the mix, eating the chocolate chips, feeding the dogs chocolate chips, watching the cookies bake and most importantly, eating the warm cookies straight from the oven! Needless to say it was bath time after the cookies.
